Slovakia

Social Worker / Social Work Assistant (socialny pracovnik / asistent socialnej prace)
Regulator: Slovenska komora socialnych pracovnikov a asistentov socialnej prace (Slovak Chamber of Social Workers and Social Work Assistants)
CPDSocial work is a regulated profession under Act No. 219/2014 Z.z. on social work and on the conditions for performing selected activities in social services. Continuing education (sustavne vzdelavanie v socialnej praci) is a mandatory general duty forming part of maintaining professional competence, but the Act does NOT prescribe a fixed number of credits or hours or a defined multi-year cycle. For those in an employment relationship the employer ensures continuing education; for social workers in independent/private practice (samostatna prax) the Chamber carries out the evaluation of continuing education. Qualifying activities defined broadly (self-study, single training events, professional internships, publishing, research). No statutory numeric credit/cycle threshold as of July 2026.
No specific live / interactive hour requirement

Home study: Not specified by statute; no numeric credit framework prescribed.

Board notes: Established by Act No. 219/2014 Z.z. Continuing education duty appears in the competence and continuing-education provisions of the Act (approx. Sections 4-6 and 41). Because there is no fixed credit total or cycle, this profession is regulated but its CPD obligation is qualitative/duty-based rather than a countable credit-per-cycle scheme like the healthcare-psychology model. Independent-practice social workers are evaluated by the Chamber; employed workers are supported by employers.

Slovakia

Health Care Psychologist / Clinical Psychologist (zdravotnicky pracovnik - psycholog / klinicky psycholog)
Regulator: Slovenska komora psychologov (Slovak Chamber of Psychologists) under Ministry of Health SR
50hours / credits / 5-year renewal cycle
No live / interactive hours required — all hours may be self-study
Mandated topics
  • At least 40 credits in development of professional knowledge and skills in psychology
  • Up to 10 credits in professional development activities (scientific advancement, ethics, legal knowledge, IT/e-health, communication)

Home study: No explicit blanket cap; credit values for self-study, e-learning and other activity types are set in the credit-award rules of Vyhlaska 74/2019. Max 10 of the 50 credits may come from general professional-development (non-core) activities; up to 20% (max 10) surplus credits may be carried into the next cycle.

Board notes: Continuing education (sustavne vzdelavanie) is a statutory duty under Section 42 of Act No. 578/2004 Z.z. on health care providers and health workers; assessment criteria are set by Ministry of Health Regulation (Vyhlaska) No. 74/2019 Z.z. (effective 15 March 2019). Psychology is a regulated healthcare profession; a person must be registered with the Slovak Chamber of Psychologists to practice as a healthcare psychologist. The 5-year evaluation cycle runs from the date of registration; suspended/cancelled registration time does not count. Clinical psychology (klinicka psychologia) is a specialization within this healthcare-psychologist framework and is subject to the same 50-credit/5-year rule. Falling below 50 credits yields a 'nesplnil' (not met) result and triggers procedures under Section 42. Evaluation fee 10 EUR per cycle (free for chamber members).
