National Behavioral Health Licensure Pass Rates

First-attempt pass rates for the six exams Triad prepares clinicians for — EPPP, ASWB, BCBA, NCE, NCMHCE, and the National MFT exam — aggregated from official testing-body publications and accredited-program disclosures.

75.1%
EPPP — accredited programs
First-time, ASPPB 2025 report (n=17,748). Historic baseline >80%; ~5pt COVID-era dip.
75.3%
ASWB Clinical
First-time, ASWB 2024 (n=23,443). Masters 73.0%, Bachelors 67.2%.
51%
BCBA — first-time

First-attempt rates vary widely by program and study method. Candidates using structured, full-coverage prep consistently outperform self-study — the gap Triad’s exam-prep brands are built to close.

Most recent national first-attempt pass rates

Three exams have credible official national publications (EPPP, ASWB, BCBA). Three do not (NCE, NCMHCE, MFT) — for those, national figures must be assembled from accredited-program disclosures.

Rates are first-attempt where published. EPPP figure covers accredited doctoral programs (nonaccredited: 44.85%). NBCC (NCE/NCMHCE) and AMFTRB publish no national pass rate; each accredited program discloses its own. Why some rates are missing

The counseling family (NCE, NCMHCE) and the National MFT exam have no official national pass-rate publication. NBCC and AMFTRB release no annual report, and CACREP Vital Statistics excludes pass rates. National figures can only be reconstructed by aggregating the self-reported disclosures that accredited programs are required to publish — format and recency vary widely across the ~956 CACREP programs.
