Denmark CE Requirements by License

CPDSocial work is NOT a statutorily regulated or authorised profession in Denmark. There is no state licence or authorisation ('socialrådgiver' is a professional-bachelor education, not a protected/authorised health title under Styrelsen for Patientsikkerhed), and therefore no legally mandated continuing-professional-development hours or renewal cycle. Any CPD is employer- or union-driven (Dansk Socialrådgiverforening) and voluntary. No statutory CPD mandate exists.

CPDCounseling/'rådgivning' and psychotherapy titles ('psykoterapeut') are NOT statutorily regulated or protected in Denmark. Anyone may practise as a counselor or (non-psychologist) psychotherapist; there is no state authorisation, no protected title, and consequently no legally mandated CPD hours or renewal cycle. Some private-sector standards exist via voluntary membership bodies (e.g. Dansk Psykoterapeutforening), but these are association-driven, not statutory.

CPDPsychologist ('psykolog') is a protected title in Denmark and authorisation ('autorisation') is granted for life by Styrelsen for Patientsikkerhed once a candidate holds the university degree (cand.psych. / cand.pæd.psych., typically a 5-6 year integrated bachelor+master) AND completes a period of relevant supervised practice after graduation (the established standard is roughly 2 years of full-time relevant employment including a minimum of ~160 hours of formal supervision under an authorised psychologist). There is NO statutory periodic renewal and NO legally mandated fixed number of continuing-education (efteruddannelse) hours required to MAINTAIN the authorisation once it is granted; authorised psychologists are simply listed in the STPS authorisation register. CPD is therefore expectation- and association-driven rather than a hard statutory renewal-hour rule: the Danish Psychological Association (Dansk Psykolog Forening) offers voluntary specialist ('specialist') and continuing-education programmes (e.g. specialist tracks built from 90+ hours of theory plus supervision), and maintaining a specialist title is governed by DP's own rules, not by law. The only periodic legal touchpoint is the age-75 rule, under which health professionals must apply for continued permission to practise/self-employ, but this is not a CPD-hours requirement.

CPDMarriage and family therapy is NOT a distinct statutorily regulated or authorised profession in Denmark. 'Familieterapeut'/family therapist is not a protected title and there is no state licence, so there is no legally mandated CPD-hours requirement or renewal cycle. Family/couples therapy is often delivered by authorised psychologists (regulated under the Psychology entry) or by non-regulated private therapists whose standards are set by voluntary associations, not by law.

CPDThere is no Danish state regulation, authorisation, or protected title for behavior analysts. The BCBA credential is a private, US-based certification issued by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB); any CPD/CEU obligations attach to that voluntary US credential, not to Danish law. Denmark imposes no statutory CPD requirement because the profession is not regulated domestically. (Note: the BACB has largely restricted new certification outside the US/Canada, so the credential is uncommon in Denmark.)
