Luxembourg CE Requirements by License

CPDRegulated profession. 'Assistant social' and 'assistant d'hygiene sociale' are expressly listed as health professions ('professions de sante') in the Loi du 26 mars 1992 sur l'exercice et la revalorisation de certaines professions de sante; practice requires ministerial authorization / registration. The law contains a continuing-education framework (Art. 12-13) but no universally fixed mandatory hour count or cycle: practitioners 'doivent tenir a jour leurs connaissances professionnelles' (must keep their professional knowledge current). Attendance at continuing-education courses organized or approved by the Minister is treated as paid service time up to 5 working days per year, or 15 consecutive working days per three-year period. Continuing education becomes strictly obligatory only where the Minister formally declares specific courses mandatory for the profession (Art. 12(2)); the detailed criteria are set by grand-ducal regulation. Therefore there is a legal duty to maintain competence, but no single statutory CPD hour total.

CPDRegulated profession. Practice requires an individual authorization ('autorisation d'exercer') from the Minister of Health (Loi du 14 juillet 2015 portant creation de la profession de psychotherapeute). The law imposes an ongoing professional-development DUTY but no quantified hours or renewal cycle: Chapter 4 (Exercice) provides that 'Le psychotherapeute est oblige de tenir a jour ses connaissances professionnelles et de developper en continu ses competences professionnelles' (must keep professional knowledge current and continuously develop competences). There is no statutory minimum number of CPD/formation-continue hours and no fixed audit cycle; failure to maintain competence is addressed through the deontological/disciplinary regime of the College medical rather than an hour-counting scheme. Entry (not renewal) requires a master in clinical psychology or a medical degree plus specific psychotherapy training (transitional route referenced 450 hours of specific/continuous psychotherapy training).

CPDNo mandated periodic continuing education. 'Psychologue' is a regulated profession in Luxembourg only in the access/qualification-recognition sense: using the title professionally requires a recognized university master's degree in psychology, with recognition handled under the general professional-qualifications regime (Loi du 28 octobre 2016 relative a la reconnaissance des qualifications professionnelles, transposing Directive 2005/36/EC). There is NO standalone statute creating a protected-title-with-CPD scheme for psychologists comparable to the psychotherapist law, and psychologist is NOT among the 'professions de sante' listed in the Loi du 26 mars 1992 (so the health-professions continuing-education framework does not apply to it). Consequently there is no legally required number of CPD hours or renewal cycle. Voluntary continuing development is promoted through the professional association (Societe Luxembourgeoise de Psychologie / SLP) and, for those who hold it, the EFPA EuroPsy certificate (EuroPsy requires evidence of CPD only for holders renewing that voluntary certificate, not by Luxembourg law).

CPDNot regulated as a distinct profession in Luxembourg. There is no marriage-and-family-therapist license or protected title. Family/couple therapy delivered as psychotherapy falls under the psychotherapist authorization regime (Loi du 14 juillet 2015). Because there is no MFT license, there is no MFT-specific continuing-education mandate, hour requirement, or renewal cycle.

CPDNot regulated in Luxembourg. There is no statutory license, protected title, or governmental board for behavior analysts, and BCBA is not listed among Luxembourg's regulated health professions. The BCBA credential is a voluntary certification issued by the US-based Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB); any recertification CE requirements are set by the BACB, not by Luxembourg law. Luxembourg imposes no continuing-education mandate, hour total, or cycle for behavior analysts.
