Szocialis munkas / szemelyes gondoskodast vegzo szemely (Social worker / personal-care service worker)
Regulator: Slachta Margit Nemzeti Szocialpolitikai Intezet (NSZI) and the Szocialis Tovabbkepzesi Minosito Testulet, under the Ministry responsible for social affairs; governed by decree 9/2000. (VIII. 4.) SzCsM
CPDContinuing education IS mandatory for staff providing personal-care social services, under decree 9/2000. (VIII. 4.) SzCsM on the continuing education of personal-care providers and the social professional examination (szocialis szakvizsga). Within a fixed continuing-education period (tovabbkepzesi idoszak, generally 6 years), workers must accumulate accredited continuing-education credit points spanning mandatory (minositett kotelezo), job-linked (munkakorhoz kotott) and freely-chosen (valaszthato) qualified courses. This is a social-sector obligation SEPARATE from the healthcare point system - social work is NOT a healthcare specialty in Hungary. The exact required point total varies by qualification level/role and was not confirmed to a specific figure from an official source in this pass; commonly cited as on the order of ~80 points per 6-year cycle for qualified personnel. Independent titles such as 'szocialis munkas' are not protected by a licensing chamber; the CPD duty attaches to holding a personal-care job role, and completion is tracked toward continued employment eligibility.
No specific live / interactive hour requirement
Mandated topics
  • Minositett kotelezo (mandatory qualified) continuing education
  • Munkakorhoz kotott (job-role-linked) continuing education
  • Valaszthato (elective) qualified continuing education

Home study: Not specified as a home-study percentage cap; courses are accredited on the qualified-training registry regardless of delivery format.

Board notes: Regulated for CPD purposes but through the social/welfare framework, not healthcare (no OKFO/ENK involvement). The obligation is imposed on persons employed in personal-care social services (szemelyes gondoskodast vegzo szemelyek); the tovabbkepzesi idoszak is generally 6 years with points split across mandatory, job-linked and elective qualified courses, plus a separate senior credential route via the szocialis szakvizsga (social professional examination). Exact per-cycle point totals depend on the worker's qualification level and role and are set out in decree 9/2000. (VIII. 4.) SzCsM and its annexes.

Hungary

Pszichoterapeuta (Psychotherapist) - added/ratepitett healthcare specialization
Regulator: Orszagos Korhazi Foigazgatosag (OKFO) / Egeszsegugyi Nyilvantartasi es Kepzesi Kozpont (ENK); operating registry (mukodesi nyilvantartas); CE points recorded by a medical university training centre
250hours / credits / 5-year renewal cycle
No live / interactive hours required — all hours may be self-study
Mandated topics
  • Mandatory maintenance course (kotelezo szintentarto tovabbkepzes)
  • Theoretical continuing education
  • Practical continuing education
  • Freely chosen continuing education

Home study: No explicit online/home-study percentage cap; theoretical points capped at 100/year, practical at 20/year (100/cycle).

Board notes: In Hungary psychotherapy IS regulated as a healthcare specialty: 'pszichoterapeuta' is a recognised added (ratepitett) qualification obtainable by physicians (e.g. psychiatrists) and by clinical psychologists. Because it is an egeszsegugyi szakkepesites, holders are subject to the same statutory continuing-education point system as other clinical health specialists (min. 250 points per ~5-year operating-registry cycle per qualification, including a mandatory maintenance course, theoretical and practical components), administered through a medical university CE centre and required for 5-year renewal of the mukodesi nyilvantartas. There is no separate, differently-scaled CPD scheme for psychotherapists outside this healthcare framework. Hungary does not license generic 'counselors' as a distinct regulated profession; counseling-type roles fall under psychology/psychotherapy or the (separately regulated) social sector.

Hungary

Klinikai szakpszichologus (Clinical Specialist Psychologist) and related clinical psychology healthcare specialties
Regulator: Orszagos Korhazi Foigazgatosag (OKFO) / Egeszsegugyi Nyilvantartasi es Kepzesi Kozpont (ENK); operating registry (mukodesi nyilvantartas); CE points recorded by the training centre of one of four Hungarian medical universities
250hours / credits / 5-year renewal cycle
No live / interactive hours required — all hours may be self-study
Mandated topics
  • At least one mandatory maintenance course (kotelezo szintentarto tovabbkepzes) per qualification per cycle
  • Theoretical continuing education (elmeleti tovabbkepzes)
  • Practical continuing education (gyakorlati tovabbkepzes)
  • Freely chosen continuing education (szabadon valaszthato tovabbkepzes)

Home study: Not defined as an online/home-study percentage cap. Instead the theoretical component is capped at 100 theoretical points recognisable per year per qualification; practical points are capped at 20 per year (100 per cycle). Points are attached to accredited courses regardless of delivery mode.

Board notes: Clinical psychology is regulated ONLY as a healthcare specialty (egeszsegugyi felsofoku szakiranyu szakkepesites). To practise autonomously one must hold a valid mukodesi nyilvantartas (operating registry entry), renewed every 5 years, conditioned on completing the continuing-education obligation. Per qualification a minimum of 250 points is required over the ~5-year cycle: at least 150 theoretical points (max 100 theoretical points recognised per year), plus practical points (20/year, min 60 and max 100 per cycle counted from time worked in the specialty), plus a mandatory maintenance course. Up to a limited surplus of freely-chosen theoretical points earned in the final year may be carried to the next cycle. Points are administered not by OKFO but by the postgraduate/CE centre of one of four Hungarian medical universities, where the professional must enrol. General (non-clinical) psychologists working outside the healthcare system are NOT covered by this mandatory point system and Hungary has no separate statutory chamber imposing CPD on all psychologists.

Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT) / Csaladterapeuta
Regulator: No state regulator; family therapy training is offered by professional societies/universities (e.g. Magyar Csaladterapias Egyesulet) but is not a state-licensed profession
CPDNOT regulated as a distinct profession in Hungary. There is no statutory 'Marriage and Family Therapist' license. Family therapy (csaladterapia) exists as a post-graduate/specialist training and society membership pathway, typically pursued by clinical psychologists, psychiatrists or psychotherapists who are themselves regulated under the healthcare continuing-education system. Any mandatory CPD arises from an individual's underlying healthcare qualification (clinical psychologist / psychotherapist, 250 points per 5-year cycle), not from a separate MFT license. Society-level CPD or supervision requirements may apply for retaining professional-society accreditation but are voluntary/private, not state-mandated.
No specific live / interactive hour requirement

Home study: N/A - not a regulated license.

Board notes: Practitioners are governed by whatever underlying healthcare credential they hold; the 'family therapist' designation is a training/competency, not an independent regulated title with its own CPD cycle.

Hungary

Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)
Regulator: None in Hungary (BCBA is a private US credential of the Behavior Analyst Certification Board); no Hungarian state recognition or license
CPDNOT regulated or recognized as a profession in Hungary. There is no Hungarian statutory license, registry, or state CPD requirement for behavior analysts. Behavior-analytic work is generally delivered by (and regulated through) clinical psychologists or special-education/health professionals under their own frameworks. Any BCBA continuing-education requirement (e.g. 32 CEUs per 2-year cycle) is imposed by the US-based Behavior Analyst Certification Board on individual certificants, not by Hungarian law.
No specific live / interactive hour requirement

Home study: N/A - not regulated in Hungary.

Board notes: No Hungarian regulator. Certification and its CE cycle, where held, are governed entirely by the international/US BACB, independent of Hungarian licensing.
