Home study: Not specified. The statute (§ 111(2)) recognizes only structured forms: specialization education at universities/higher vocational schools, accredited-program courses and education programs organized by ministries, professional internships, participation in training events, and participation in conferences. Pure self-study is not an enumerated qualifying form, so there is effectively no home-study allowance.

Board notes: Under § 111(1) of Act No. 108/2006 Coll., the EMPLOYER is obliged to ensure the social worker receives further education (další vzdělávání) of at least 48 hours per 2 consecutive calendar years (equivalent to ~24 hours/year). If the employment does not last the whole calendar year, or for excused absence longer than 1 calendar month, the requirement is reduced by 2 hours for each such calendar month. Employees in a probationary period are exempt. This is a statutory continuing-education duty framed as an employer obligation rather than an individual license-renewal condition (there is no individual state registration/licensing body for social workers). Qualification to practice requires higher/tertiary education of social, or social-and-legal, or social-pedagogical, or social-healthcare, or special-pedagogical focus per § 110. A parallel duty applies to 'pracovník v sociálních službách' (care workers) under § 116.

Self-study of professional literature (samostatné studium odborné literatury) and e-learning are explicitly recognized forms of continuing education under § 54(1) of Act No. 96/2004 Coll., with no statutory numeric cap because no fixed credit total is mandated.

Board notes: Regulated as a non-medical healthcare profession under Act No. 96/2004 Coll. Two grades exist: psycholog ve zdravotnictví (odborná způsobilost) and klinický psycholog (specializovaná způsobilost via specialization training). A clinical psychologist may perform activities 'without professional supervision' (bez odborného dohledu). The pre-2017 system required registration with the National Centre (NCO NZO) and accumulation of credits (originally 40 credits over the registration period) for the certificate to practice without supervision; this credit/registration regime was REPEALED by Act No. 201/2017 Coll. effective 1 Sept 2017. Continuing education remains a statutory duty (§ 53(2)) but is no longer credit-counted by the state. The professional association AKP ČR and the Czech Medical Association of J.E. Purkyně (ČLS JEP) organize accredited events, and employers/accreditation of workplaces monitor ongoing competence. Psychotherapy and counselling are not separately licensed professions; they are practiced within the healthcare framework via certified specialization courses.
