Lithuania CE Requirements by License

CPDSocial work is a regulated occupation with a mandatory attestation (atestacija) system administered by the Department of Social Services Supervision (SPPD) via the SDDKAIS information system, under the Law on Social Services and Order of the Minister of Social Security and Labour No. A1-92 of 5 April 2006 (as amended by Order No. A1-425 of 25 June 2024). Social workers are attested into qualification categories (third/second/first; the former 'expert' category was renamed 'third' from 1 July 2024) and must document ongoing professional-competence development each calendar year - including participation in supervision and intervision - for the number of years of experience required for the desired category. A specific mandatory annual hour figure (the long-standing minimum applied in Lithuania is on the order of 16 academic hours per year) could not be re-verified from a primary official source in this pass, so total_hours is left null; confirm the current per-year hour minimum in the SPPD 'reikalavimu suvestine' methodical material.

CPD'Counselor' and non-medical 'psychotherapist' are NOT separately regulated or state-licensed professions in Lithuania and carry no statutory CPD requirement. Psychological counselling is practised chiefly by psychologists (see the Psychology record). Psychotherapy training and CPD are handled by voluntary professional associations/modality societies. Only medical psychotherapy performed by licensed physicians is state-regulated, under Ministry of Health / health-professional licensing rules, not under a dedicated counseling statute.

CPDLithuania has a draft/adopted framework Law on Psychologist Practice (Psichologu praktines veiklos istatymas, project Nr. XIVP-762, submitted to the Seimas with a government resolution in April 2023) that defines a 'psychologist' as a person who has acquired the psychologist qualification and is entered in the Register of Psychologists (Psichologu registras). As of July 2026 the licensing/registration and supervised-practice infrastructure does not appear to be fully operational, and no specific statutory number of continuing-professional-development hours or renewal cycle for maintaining registration could be confirmed from official sources. In practice CPD follows the EFPA EuroPsy standard (minimum 40 CPD hours per year, i.e. ~160 hours over a 7-year revalidation cycle), but EuroPsy certificates are currently NOT being issued in Lithuania pending implementation of a national supervised-practice system (transitional issuance ended 31 March 2018). Treat statutory CPD as not-yet-defined/not-yet-in-force; verify current implementation status directly with the regulator.

CPDMarriage and family therapy is NOT a distinct state-regulated or licensed profession in Lithuania and has no statutory CPD requirement. Family/systemic therapy is delivered by psychologists, physician-psychotherapists or association-trained practitioners; competence and CPD are governed only by voluntary training institutes and professional associations, not by a government MFT license.

CPDBehavior analysis / BCBA is NOT a government-regulated or licensed profession in Lithuania and there is no national CPD mandate. Individuals holding the BCBA credential are bound by the private BACB's own continuing-education requirements (32 CEUs per 2-year recertification cycle), but this is an international certification standard, not a Lithuanian statutory requirement.
