Licensed Behavior Analyst (LBA) - Mississippi Autism Board (BCBA nationally)
12hours / 1-year renewal cycle
6 live / interactive hours required
Mandated topics
  • Ethical or legal continuing education — 1 hminimum 1 hr per year (state rule)
  • SupervisionNot required by MS Autism Board rule; BACB certificants who supervise must separately complete 3 supervision CEUs per BACB 2-yr cycle

Home study: No more than 50% of the required hours may be asynchronous; therefore at least 6 of the 12 annual hours must be synchronous/live.

Board notes: Mississippi Autism Board rule (30 Miss. Admin. Code Part 3301, eff. 3.13.2024) sets its OWN CE standard, distinct from the BACB: each LBA/LABA must report a minimum of 12 hours of CE each year, including 1 hour of ethical/legal CE, reported by June 30. No more than 50% may be asynchronous (so >=6 hrs synchronous/live). Excess hours above 12 carry over to subsequent years. Only courses/providers approved by the BACB or a Behavior-Analysis accrediting body (ABAI, APBA) are accepted. The board does NOT adopt the BACB 32-CEU/2-yr figure. Separately, to keep the BCBA credential, certificants must still meet the BACB national standard of 32 CEUs per 2-yr cycle (4 ethics; +3 supervision if serving as a supervisor).
