Home study: Set by the certifying entity (BACB), not the state. BACB accepts recorded/online CEUs; effective July 1, 2026 BACB requires learning CEUs to be interactive (e.g., video with embedded assessment) but does not mandate live/synchronous attendance.
Board notes: Nebraska DOES license behavior analysts (LBA/LABA) under 172 NAC 86 (rule finalized/updated Aug 28 2024; became a mandatory credential in 2024). Section 172 NAC 86-008 does NOT set independent state CE hours; it requires that 'continuing education and competency requirements with a certifying entity, as defined by Neb. Rev. Stat. 38-4405, must be maintained' - i.e., renewal requires proof of active BACB certification, so the effective CE standard is the BACB's (32 CEUs/2 yr, 4 ethics, 3 supervision for supervisors; BCaBA 20 CEUs/2 yr with 4 ethics). State license renews biennially expiring Sep 1 of even-numbered years.
