Social Worker
Regulator: Not regulated — Yukon has no social work registration body or profession-specific legislation
CPDSocial work is not a regulated profession in Yukon. There is no Social Workers Act, no registrar, and no public register for social workers under Yukon's professional licensing framework (Department of Community Services), and consequently no territorial continuing-education or continuing-competence requirement is set. Yukon-based social workers may voluntarily belong to the Association of Social Workers in Northern Canada (ASWNC), which is a voluntary association and not a statutory regulator.

Home study: Not separately capped; 'continuing competency activities' are defined by the Registrar of Psychologists in the standards of practice
Board notes: Yukon's Psychology Regulation (O.I.C. 2025/0010) under the Health Professions Act came into force February 1, 2025. Section 6(1) requires full and provisional registrants to complete 75 hours of continuing competency activities over every three registration years. The registration year runs February 1 to January 31; certificates are renewed annually (renewal by December 31) and proof of continuing competency certifications is required at renewal except for inactive registrants. Applicants must also hold professional liability insurance of at least $3,000,000, pass a jurisprudence examination, and complete Yukon First Nations 101. Psychology is administered directly by a government Registrar rather than a self-regulating college.
