Manitoba

• Formal Activities (direct learning) — 40 hMinimum 40 of the 75 hours must be Formal Activities; the remaining 35 hours may be formal or informal. The Indigenous, EDI, and Standards/Ethics content below falls within these 40 formal hours.
• Social work with Indigenous Peoples — 8 hRequired within the 40 Formal Activity hours.
• Equity, Diversity and Inclusion — 8 hRequired within the 40 Formal Activity hours.
• MCSW Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics — 4 hRequired within the 40 Formal Activity hours.

Home study: Up to 35 of the 75 hours may be Informal (self-directed) Activities. Self-assessment and learning-plan completion is capped at a maximum of 2 informal hours per CCP cycle year.

Board notes: 75 hours of Continuing Competence Program (CCP) activities are required over the 3-year reporting cycle (current cycle 2025-2028), of which a minimum of 40 hours must be Formal Activities. A portion of the Formal Activities must be direct learning activities. New members must complete the MCSW Ethics e-Learning within their first 12 months (claimable for a maximum of 2 CCP hours). Members log hours in the Member Portal CCP log and retain documentation for 5 years in case of audit.

Manitoba

No specific subject mandates — general CE hours only.

Home study: Self-directed activities (Category C) capped at 15 hours per year. No more than 15 of the 20 required hours may come from any single activity type, except Category A (formally accredited activities), which may account for all 20 hours.

Board notes: A minimum of 20 hours of continuing education per calendar year is required for all membership categories except inactive, retired, and honorary members. Activities fall into five categories: A (formally accredited), B (academic), C (self-directed), D (professional service), and E (other approved). Category A may satisfy the full 20 hours; Categories B-E are each capped at 15 hours. Members submit a CE Reporting Form; attendance may need to be verified. Requirements are set out in PAM's Continuing Education Guidelines (rev. 2011). No specific ethics/jurisprudence hour is mandated.
