What else should Certified Psychologist renewals know in Latvia?
Under the Psychologists Law (Psihologu likums, in force 1 Jan 2018) a psychologist's certificate is valid for 7 years and is renewed by re-certification (resertifikācija). Cabinet Regulation No. 301 (29 May 2018 'Psihologu noteikumi'), Section V para 40, sets three recertification requirements measured over the 7-year certificate validity: (1) develop/upgrade professional competence and professional skills at least 100 academic hours (the CPD requirement, captured in total_hours); (2) at least 700 hours of professional practice in the certified field; and (3) collaboration with a psychologist-supervisor of at least 35 academic hours individually or 70 academic hours in a group. Certification/recertification is administered by field-specific Certification Commissions (educational, clinical/health, work-and-organizational, consultative, court/legal, military) under the Board for Certification of Psychologists. Psychologists who hold psychologist-supervisor rights may count supervisor duties toward the practice hours, but not more than 200 academic hours per certificate period.
