120hours / credits / 6-year renewal cycle
No live / interactive hours required — all hours may be self-study
Mandated topics

No specific subject mandates — general CE hours only.

Home study: No explicit cap. Points may be earned through congresses/conferences/symposia, tribunes and round tables, lectures and professional meetings, postgraduate courses/seminars with or without exams, e-learning/internet-based CPD, postgraduate/doctoral study, specializations and training for psychosocial/psychotherapeutic and counseling approaches, mentorship and supervision, study visits, and publications. Distance/e-learning CPD is explicitly recognized (Art. 6, Art. 4(1)6).

Board notes: Requirement expressed in points (bodovi), not clock hours. Art. 4(1)8 and Art. 19: the competence-verification period (razdoblje provjere stručnosti) is 6 years, running from the date the right to practice social work is recognized. An authorized social worker who earns at least 120 points within the 6 years is deemed to have fulfilled the CPD right/obligation (Art. 19(3)); the rulebook recommends collecting at least 20 points each calendar year for continuity (Art. 19(2)). Surplus points do not carry over (Art. 19(4)). If the required 120 points are not collected, the member must undergo a verification of conditions and professional competences to retain the right to practice (Art. 19(5); Art. 30 covers those who from unjustified reasons did not collect the 120 points). Art. 20: for justified continuous absences the required total is reduced (by 20 points for absence of 12 continuous months e.g. military service; by 10 points for 6 continuous months). Mentorship of students/trainees is capped at a maximum 60 points per 6-year period (Art. 24). A separate points-tracking application was noted as under development as of 2026.
