The CURRENT version of the rule is effective 4/14/2026 (WVBEC posts it as 27CSR10_Final-4-2026; the WV SOS rule record also shows an effective date of 4/14/2026) - the previously recorded 7/1/2017 version has been superseded, though the substantive CE numbers are unchanged. 35 hrs every biennium (2-yr); renewed annually. Excess contact hours may NOT be carried over to the next biennium. At least 20 contact hours must be obtained from offerings other than those taught, conducted, produced or presented by the licensee. AAMFT-approved and pre-approved out-of-state programs are automatically accepted. As with LPCs, third-party '15 hours live' claims are not in the rule; live_interactive_required_hours is 0.
