Can Licensed Psychologist CE be completed online in Florida?
Generally yes — Florida does not require live or interactive hours for Licensed Psychologist, so approved online / home-study CE can typically satisfy the requirement. Home-study note: Home/independent study permitted; Chapter 64B19-13, F.A.C. (Rule 64B19-13.003, 'Continuing Psychological Education Credit,' eff. 9/19/2024) sets no live/in-person minimum and no explicit overall cap on general hours. live_interactive_required_hours = 0..
What else should Licensed Psychologist renewals know in Florida?
Florida Board of Psychology. CE rules are in Chapter 64B19-13, F.A.C. (principally Rule 64B19-13.003, effective 9/19/2024) - NOT Chapter 64B9, which is the Board of Nursing. 40 hours per biennium = 35 general + 3 ethics/Florida psychology law (at least 1 hr ethics and at least 1 hr Florida laws & rules, Ch. 456 & 490 F.S.) + 2 prevention of medical errors, plus 2 hours of domestic violence every third biennium. Biennium ends May 31 (current licenses expire midnight ET May 31, 2026). CE is reported through CE Broker, not to the Board. First-time renewers who passed the Florida laws-and-rules examination need only the 2-hour medical errors course; first-time renewers who have NOT taken that exam must complete all 40 hours. A laws/rules course does not satisfy the medical-errors or domestic-violence requirements. Electronic fingerprinting is now required (HB 975, 2024).
